Poulenc Concerto in Gießen

This week, we had the pleasure of performing Francis Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra with the Philharmonisches Orchester Gießen, conducted by Hannah Eisendle, at the Stadttheater Gießen.

Coming back to Gießen for these concerts felt particularly special to us, as we grew up very close by. We performed twice – first as part of the orchestra’s Preview Concert and the following evening at the opening Symphony Concert of the new season.

Poulenc’s concerto is such an exciting piece to share with an orchestra – full of energy, contrasts and unexpected turns, while at the same time offering moments of incredible beauty. We loved diving into this music together with Hannah and the musicians of the orchestra!

A big thank you to Hannah Eisendle and the entire orchestra for the inspiring collaboration, and to everyone who came to hear us. It was wonderful to perform so close to where our musical journey began – and to share these two evenings with so many familiar faces in the audience.
